Mrs. Elliot's Class Dear First Graders, We are happy that Ted E. Bear came to visit our class. We live in Clare, Michigan. Our state is shaped like a mitten. We live in the middle of the mitten in a small rural city of 3,500. We have 25 children in our class. We just had a teddy bear day last week. We all brought our bears to school and had a big parade around the school. It was fun. We are sending some postcards about our state . We have lots of lakes in Michigan for swimming in the summer. We get lots of snow in the winter so we also like to snowmobile and ski. Our state makes lots of cars. In Clare, many people farm. Mrs. Elliot's First Grade
