Owls

 

 

     Owls are part of our study about nocturnal animals. We joyed

 learning about the owl's hunting habits and how they fly.

 We compared owls and bats with a Venn diagram. We hope you

 enjoy our unit.

Owl Facts

  Owls use many different sounds to communicate.

  Owls are Birds.

  Owls live on every continent except Antarctica.

  All owl eggs are white.

  An owl coat is made of thousands of feathers.

  Owls cannot move their eyeballs.

  An owl has three sets of eyelids.

  An owl can swing its head around and look behind its back.

  An owl can turn its face upside down.

  An owl can hear a mouse 60 feet away.

  An owl can open and close its ears.

  Some owls trick their enemies by playing dead or faking an injury.
