        On night before Thanksgiving the Pilgrims met the Indian Squanto.  He

  showed the Pilgrims how to grow things and that is how they lived.

        My class wrote short essays about  what they

 would do if they could exchange places

 with the Pilgrims or Native Americans.  Below are

 what they had to say...

                       If I were a Pilgrim....

  I would help pick vegetables and fruit.  I would wear long

   dresses.                          Shyanna

   I would wash clothes in the river.    Amelia

   I would go out in the woods and shoot deer and turkey.    Evan

   I would  help my dad shoe horses.      Boone

   I would help my dad work in the fields.     Austin

   I would plant in the garden and help other Pilgrims.  Meranda

   I would  learn my school work at home because girls didn't go to

   I would milk the goats, carry water to the house, and help my dad

    I would get yucky stuff off the buffalo skins and make clothes.  I
